3 Months Old

And suddenly 3 months have come and gone. We sure love watching our little Austin grow. She is such a good baby and the kids just love her.
I'm pretty sure Austin has grown 3 months in the past month alone. She went from being what I would think is mostly average, and suddenly she is this giant chunky baby. It is crazy how much she has chunked up over the past month.
It feels like we just barely transitioned out of newborn diapers and clothes. But size 1 diapers are already super snug. The only reason I'm still using them is because I have so many of them that I don't want to go to waste. But at night, she is wearing size 2.

I also had to go through her clothes and officially pack up all of her newborn and size 0-3 month clothes. She is wearing 3-6 month clothes, and I feel like she will quickly grow out of these.

About a week or so ago, Austin really found her voice. She had made a few noises here and there, but suddenly she started coo-ing more and being more vocal. It was as if she heard her voice and decided that she liked it.
Will loves it when she talks to him and is always so excited to tell me what Austin has said. I love the look she is giving him in the picture.
She has these adorable cheeks that I kiss all day long.

There was a small stretch when she started sleeping amazing. She would go to sleep between 9-10pm and sleep until about 5am. Then she would eat and immediately go back to sleep for a few more hours. It was heavenly. Unfortunately it didn't last long. Suddenly she has decided she needs to eat at 2am, 4am, and 6am and sometimes not go back to sleep afterwards. To make my nights even more awesome, Blake has decided to wake up and scream pretty much every time Austin is asleep. I'm not sure who wakes up more during the night, Blake or Austin. Basically, I'm tired.
Austin absolutely hates tummy time. She just lays there with her head buried in the floor and screams. She wont try to pick her head up or do anything except scream.

But I still feel like her neck is pretty strong. She can hold her head very well when she is sitting or when I'm burping her. The doctor was a little worried about her head going flat at the last appointment, so I need to get better at doing tummy time.

Austin is one of the most smiley babies I've ever known. She is always smiling. One time I was trying to get a picture of her in an outfit I had a picture in Blake in to compare. And I wanted just a straight face picture. But the second I pulled my phone out, Austin wouldn't stop smiling. It is harder getting a picture of her not smiling.

She has also started to giggle. It's not a super common occurrence yet, but it has happened several times. She is ticklish by her neck and her legs, though most of the time when I try to tickle her she isn't sure how to react. Every once in a while, I will get a giggle though, and it is the best sound. Will is constantly asking me to make Austin laugh. We all love that sound.

Funny story: One time when I was checking out at the grocery store, the cashier asked me what my baby's name was. I told her it was Austin. She kind of mulled it over, but didn't really react one way or the other. Then she turns and asks what my other daughter's name is. I say Blake. Immediately she says uh-oh and what is your boy's name. When I told her Will, her response was, "Oh good. If you had said Lucy I would have had to take you out back or something!" It was great. I know everyone might not love the names we have picked, but I absolutely adore them. I expect to get odd looks and responses, but it doesn't change how much I love their names.
She has some goofy expressions and it is always fun when you capture them on camera.

I have started putting her in the bumbo for short periods of time. Sometimes she loves it and will sit and talk and smile. Other times she arches her back and screams until you take her out. She can hold her head fairly well, but I don't leave her in there for too long cause I can tell she starts getting tired.
Austin is constantly turning her head back and forth. Especially when she is tired, she will toss and turn her head, like she isn't quite comfortable. I read somewhere that it is a common way for babies to try and fight sleep. Anyways, she does it A LOT. She has a nice bald spot on the back of her head as a result. Neither of my other kids ever got bald spots so this is new territory for me.
Her poor little patch of hair beneath. I'm sure I'll have to cut that eventually.

Austin has also found her hands and has started to play with them and suck on them constantly. One time Lance and I were cuddling on the couch, kissing here and there, when suddenly it sounded like Austin was making kissing noises at us. We both burst up laughing. She was sucking on her fist, but it seriously sounded like she was teasing us with kissing noises.

She still loves bath time, though I think she is starting to grow out of her tub. It's fun to look at her pictures in the tub from a while ago and see just how much she has grown. It's crazy to me.

There are definitely very specific things that can be done to calm her down or get her to go to sleep. Sometimes when other people have her, they aren't sure what to do and think she just wants me because I am the only one able to calm her down. While maybe a small part is due to it simply being me, I think mostly I just know what she likes. If someone else did the small things that I do, I'm nearly positive that it would work also.

Austin is a lot of fun to have around. It has been interesting adjusting to three kids, but so far I think we are doing well. There are some nights where I'm ready to go to bed, and start to get ready then I realize that she is still awake and I can't go to bed until after she goes to sleep. But I love all of the little moments I have with her throughout the day. Any time I am feeling a little down or sad, I just have to look at her and she'll give me a giant smile. It makes everything better.

Wedding Time!

Lance's little brother got married on December 29th in the Logan temple. We have had the chance to hang out with Stephanie several times and we really, really like her. She and Garrett are amazing people and compliment each other well. I am so happy that they have found each other and I'm excited to see what life brings them.

After the temple, they had a nice lunch. The food was super amazing. Then they had the reception down in Kaysville at a church. The kids had so much fun hanging out with their cousins all day. I didn't get many pictures unfortunately.
Blake was done sitting by me and was content to chill with Grandpa.

Will and Gavin were best buds. I really wish they could have had more time to play and have fun together. I enjoyed watching them interact.
Will looked so handsome in his little suit and bow tie.

It was a long day, but Austin did fantastic and ended up sleeping most of the time.
It was a great day surrounded by lots of family. Big congrats to Garrett and Stephanie. We love you both.
